Gaza - Goodbye

In August 2005 Israel evacuated all 8,000 Jewish settlers from their 21 settlements in Gaza which they had occupied since the 1967 war. At the same time four of the 120 Jewish settlements in the West Bank were also closed down. Emotions ran high on both sides. The settlers believed they had been betrayed by their Government, while the Palestinians - forced so often from their homes - had the chance for first time in 38 years to reclaim their land.
