Tibetan refugee children at a halfway house near Kathmandu. The refugees walked for three weeks across the Himalayas, mostly at night, to escape persecution, torture and imprisonment in Chinese-occupied Tibet. The refugees eventually made their way to Dharmsala in India, where they joined their exiled leader, the Dalai Lama.
