Rwanda Refugees, 1994 – 1997

The first aid workers to return to Biaro camp encountered  appalling misery. Refugees who had survived the rebel massacres slowly returned from the forest to the camp. Unaccompanied children who had lain unattended in the makeshift orphanages for more than a week were cared for by local and foreign aid workers.
