The Indonesian province of Aceh was devastated by the earthquake and subsequent Tsunami waves which struck on the 26th December 2004 – with more than 150,000 losing their lives. Hundreds of thousands more lost their homes and all their belongings.
The Tsunami crushed almost all the homes of those living close to the sea – only a few more substantial buildings in Banda Aceh were not completely destroyed.
