The civil war in northern Uganda between the Government’s UPDF forces and the Lords Resistance Army has been one of the one most brutal and under-reported conflicts of the last twenty years. The LRA led by Joseph Kony have waged a merciless campaign of terror - murdering and raping the civilian Acholi population - and destroying their villages. More than 20,000 children have been abducted by the LRA who have mistreated them terribly, forcing many of them to fight for the LRA. The LRA claim their war as a religious crusade but their extreme brutality exposes their vicious disregard for human rights.
